What's new at Fin & Ink

Finally found a few minutes to write a wrap-up of our experience at the 2023 Day at the Docks event in March. This was the first event back after the pandemic and the buzz around the landings all day was electric.

I got asked the question “What are you thinking about when you’re fishing?” I didn't have an immediate answer to the question and had to really think about thinking.

My name is Isaac Aguila. I’ve been a tattoo artist since 2008, specializing in photo realism and now reside at Bearcat Tattoo Gallery in San Diego, CA. As a fisherman, I like to fish saltwater and freshwater. I don’t prefer one over the other. They both offer challenging fishing and I love figuring out both.

As a tattoo artist we’re constantly evolving and fine tuning our craft. Much like fishing our technique and style gets stronger with experience. Our knowledge of the waters and navigation of design becomes second nature. My whole career there has been one particular theme that has been a constant in my arsenal of tattoo design work. It has both inspired and eluded me many times.
